Avril Lavigne

Canadian singer-songwriter and former 'sk8tr girl' Avril Lavigne copped a lot of flak when she postponed a planned arena tour of Japan last spring in the wake of March 11 – a situation that probably wasn't helped much by former husband Deryck Whibley's decision to go ahead with his own Sum 41 tour in the same week. Lavigne made amends with an appearance at Summer Sonic later in the year, but now she's back to play make-up dates for the original tour. Though the shows are ostensibly in support of 2011's introspective, ballad-heavy Goodbye Lullaby, they might also feature songs from the poppier follow-up, which is currently in production. Support for both gigs comes from self-confessed Avril wannabe Mao Abe.
