After tickets sold out in a flash for Beirut's first-ever Japan show, this extra date was penciled in for the magie indie-folk ensemble. Led by the prodigious Zachary Francis Condon, the group have taken three albums to make it to Tokyo, shedding some of their Balkan influences on the way to 2011's direct, hook-laden The Rip Tide. Live, Condon switches between ukulele, trumpet and flugelhorn, while his musical accomplices harness accordions, cellos and tubas with consummate ease. Should be a memorable night, in other words.
