Best Coast + The Morning Benders: CANCELLED

In the crowded field of blog-hyped indie bands channeling the sounds of first-generation garage rock and surf pop, Best Coast's 2010 debut stood tall. Crazy for You may just be a straightforward collection of mid-tempo songs about boys, but it came so crammed with hooks that it was almost impossible to resist. Co-headliners The Morning Benders share the duo's predilection for the West Coast pop of yesteryear, but draw on a more diverse palette. Sophomore album Big Echo, produced by Grizzly Bear bassist Chris Taylor, found the band moving towards a more expansive sound, with baroque song structures that at times recalled… well, Grizzly Bear.
