Widely considered one of the most gifted rappers from the 'golden age' of hip hop, Big Daddy Kane also helped lay the groundwork for the current generation when he gave a leg-up to a young Jay-Z in the early '90s. He'll be setting his compass for the days of 'I Get The Job Done' when he appears at Billboard Live this week, accompanied by fellow veteran Kurtis Blow, who went down in history as the first rapper to get signed to a major label. And this won't just be a karaoke rap-along gig, either: they've got a rock-solid session band to accompany them, in the form of LA funk revivalists Connie Price and The Keystones.
