Candy Dulfer

Time Out says

Over two decades after getting her big break in a Prince video, Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer has hooked up with a latterday pop Svengali for her latest record. Many of the tracks on 2011's Crazy were produced by Printz Board, the multi-instrumentalist best known for his role as musical director of the Black Eyed Peas. Unsurprisingly, it's a record that will appeal more to party fans than jazz purists – but then it's not like Dulfer ever had much traction with the purists in the first place. The pair will be helming a series of 'funky Valentine's' gigs at Blue Note at the start of the week, before returning for a couple of extra shows on February 19-20.
