Tchaikovsky is revered for his compositions for ballets such as Swan Lake, but his reputable work in opera is not to be overlooked. Based on the verse novel by Alexander Pushkin, Eugene Onegin is a romantic tragedy that chronicles the story of young people, the nihilistic intellectual Onegein and the dreamer Tatyana. This production, directed by Dmitry Bertman, will be led by two stars of Russian opera, Vasiliy Ladyuk playing Eugene Onegin and Evgenia Muraveva.
Note: This production will be sung in Russian with English and Japanese subtitles.
