Extreme the Dojo vol. 27

Welsh quintet Funeral for a Friend are an emo-screamo band with a difference: they actually write good hooks. They're arriving in Tokyo with a new album in tow (Welcome Home Armageddon, released in March) and a couple of well-matched touring partners. Hollywood metalcore group In This Moment have found a wide audience by allowing pop sensibilities to seep into their work, though dishy singer Maria Brink can still scream with the best of them. Rounding out the bill, Japan's own Crossfaith have been garnering a lot of overseas interest recently, which only looks set to increase with the release this month of a new album, The Dream, The Space.
