He's so steeped in the music of New Orleans, you could almost forget that Jon Cleary hails from the decidedly un-funky climes of Kent, England. The in-demand keyboardist and singer heads back to Japan after a well-received tour with his trio during May – but he'll be playing solo this time around. Expect to hear the full gamut of New Orleans styles, from boogie woogie to rhumba to funk, plus excursions into Cuban, Argentinian and other Latin climes. The first date in Cleary's tour finds him playing to an intimate crowd in the 90-capacity Hub Asakusa: don't be surprised if this one sells out very quickly indeed. Pre-advance tickets go on sale via Buffalo Records from June 29; advance tickets from July 13.
