Kabukicho Rock ‘n’ Roll Olympic 2012-2013

In what must be Tokyo's only NYE party specifically for aging punks, Shinjuku Loft is holding an all-nighter with some true veterans of the Japanese mosh scene. Cobra and Laughin' Nose both formed three decades ago, while the clown-faced New Rote'ka are only a few years short of their 30th birthday too. Slightly younger groups like The Slut Banks and the obnoxiously named Igirisu-jin are also due to take part, in a night that runs from ska to rockabilly to hardcore punk – complete with dodgy knees and receding hairlines.
