That's Kaoru-Chan as in the goofball drummer for Miila and the Geeks, a vaguely no wave trio whose lo-fi bass-and-drum jams are supplemented by a squawking saxophone player. The group have been generating some buzz on the Tokyo circuit recently, and played SXSW earlier this year, followed by a few extra US tour dates. However, this must be the biggest venue they've played in the capital so far. Indie brethren Mont-Blanc, Simoryombson (from The Chef Cooks Me) and Empire Factory Propaganda (from Pills Empire) are also playing, and there's a jam-packed DJ roster that includes Twee Grrrls Club, the female tag-team that counts the Geeks' singer Moe amongst its members.
