Lage Lund Trio

Norwegian-born axe slinger Lage Lund is regarded as one of the rising stars of contemporary jazz. The first electric guitarist to be admitted to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, he confirmed his initial promise by winning the 2005 International Thelonious Monk Guitar Competition not long after graduating. Lund is now based in New York, which was where he recorded new album Small Club, Big City with bassist Orlando le Fleming and drummers Marcus Gilmore and Jamire Williams. Johnathan Blake is sitting in on kit for this Tokyo date, which is followed by another gig at Pit Inn on Sept 18.
