Shinjuku Loft, one of the city’s most legendary live music venues, is making its 50th trip around the sun this year and is hosting a series of shows to celebrate. As part of the milestone, Loft is teaming up with its sister venue Shimokitazawa Shelter to present Pool Side on June 3, featuring Kyoto post-rock quartet Tricot, heavy rock outfit Yubiori and indie artist Yasue Dangerous Ojisan (YDO) performing with a full band.
All bands have strong ties to the Loft Project network of venues, with Tricot having performed numerous Shelter anniversary events and YDO organising a series of gigs across both venues last year. Both Yubiori and YDO had album releases last year and, with the announcement of a new management team and label, fans are speculating about potential new Tricot releases around the corner. Bring your appetite: Eeyan Curry will be providing food for the evening. Advance ticket purchases for overseas customers are available via Eplus.
