As you might have expected, jazz and classical come together at this concert featuring performances by renowned musicians like pianist Makoto Ozone and saxophonist Branford Marsalis. There are two concerts altogether, one at Ueno's Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and the other at Hachioji's Olympus Hall, with both featuring pieces like Bernstein's 'Three Dance Episodes from On The Town' and Prokofiev's 'Piano Concerto No.3, Op.26'. Still, the jazz-inspired 'Saxophone Concerto', by American composer John Adams, might just be the highlight here.
