New Year’s World Rock Festival 40th Anniversary

It wouldn't be New Year without an appearance by Yuya Uchida, the long-haired rocker who gave us Flower Travellin' Band and one of the most bizarre political campaign videos ever. The legendary eccentric threw his first New Year’s World Rock Festival in 1973, as an alternative to NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen, and he's been doing them ever since. This 40th anniversary gig drafts in support from fellow warhorses including Sheena & The Rokkets and Hakuryu, while Uchida will be performing with his Truman Capote Rock'n'Roll Band.
