When Takeshi Akimoto announced from the stage at Fuji Rock Festival in 2001 that he'd be leaving Dry & Heavy, the influential dub reggae band which he'd co-founded, it seemed like the end of an era. But eras have a curious habit of repeating themselves, and so it is that Akimoto recently teamed up again with his old bandmate, drummer Shigemoto Nanao, to let the heavy times roll once more. The group's show with avant-disco-hardcore act Zazen Boys – who are playing so many gigs at the moment that we're surprised they even find time to sleep – was originally supposed to take place on March 23, but better late than never.
