Ooo vol. 6

Known as a 'chaotic crossover' bash, the Ooosound collective's monster party series continues with a 16-hour, four-stage festival of everything from noise to hip hop. Taking over Shinjuku's Jam from 2pm on Saturday will be Japan's only 'Optron' virtuoso Atsuhiro Ito, instrumental noise-hardcore outfit Kuruucrew, rapper Robert Yoshino, musical chameleon Foodman, noise-meets-black metal wackos Violent Magic Orchestra and a good three dozen other independent acts, making this a superb opportunity for discovering what's new on the city's underground scene. Just don't expect to be able to make sense of everything that's going on.
