Orquesta Nudge! Nudge!

They aren't just one of the best named bands on the Tokyo live circuit – they're also one of the most ambitious. Led by veteran jazz and improv drummer Yasuhiro Yoshigaki, Orquesta Nudge! Nudge! are a percussion ensemble that embroils members of groups including Shibusashirazu, Kingdom Afrocks, Jazztronik and Most in their mission to prove that you don't need melodic instruments to make an orchestra. They tend to play in the round at SuperDeluxe, creating a live spectacle that's seldom less than totally absorbing.
