After debut album I Love You Glasses turned her into something resembling Spain's answer to Feist, folky singer-songwriter Lourdes Hernández headed to Glasgow to record the follow-up. Fuerteventura features members of Belle and Sebastian on backing band duties, with the indie group's go-to producer Tony Doogan twiddling the dials, and it's a rich, unashamedly classic-sounding record. Hernández, who takes her stage name from her preferred shade of lipstick, boasts a languid, husky voice, her slightly accented English only making it all the more appealing. This is her first trip to Japan, though chances are it won't be her last.
