Though they went to the same primary school, George Nicholas and Alex Cameron hadn't seen each other for eight years when a chance meeting in 2006 led them to start a band together. Roping in Nicholas' pal John Hassell, the Sydney-based trio set about crafting a fusion of electronica and dreamy ambience that at times recalls chillwave, Brainfeeder beatmakers and the delicate, dubstep-influenced soundscapes of Mount Kimbie – the difference being that they also made for an interesting live act. Seekae will be performing at the Asagiri Jam festival before heading to Tokyo for a headlining show of their own, with support from Japanese dubstep pioneer Goth-Trad.
