Shingo Annen, known professionally as Shing02, is a seasoned Japanese hip-hop artist and producer with over two decades in the music scene. His unique sound is a reflection of his global upbringing, with significant time spent in Tanzania, the UK and various parts of the United States. Annen's most notable collaborations include those with the late Nujabes in the early 2000s, with whom he forged a pioneering jazz rap style.
For this special performance at the Liquid Room, Shing02 teams up with British cover band OMA, known for their fresh approach to hip-hop. The band came together in 2018 during their university years and have quickly risen to prominence through their engaging presence on social platforms like Instagram and TikTok, thanks to their captivating beats. Their recent work includes touring with American rapper Isaiah Rashad across Europe and America in 2023.
This one-night-only event promises to be a dynamic showcase featuring both new collaborations and beloved classics, including tracks from the iconic 2000s anime series 'Samurai Champloo', a project that Annen and Nujabes famously contributed to.
The two acts will be joined by local artists Uyama Hiroto and Spin-Master A1, as well as an ensemble of seasoned DJs across generations performing on the second floor. This includes the music duo Skaai and Uin, Captain Vinyl (formed by DJ Nori and Muro), Ryohu, Shimon Hoshino and Wez Atlas. Get ready for a long, substantial night of music kicking off at 1am (doors open at 11pm) and ending close to daybreak.
