Steve Appleton's 2009 single 'Dirty Funk' made him a star in Japan, and he's continued to enjoy a following here even as he's struggled to maintain the momentum elsewhere (sophomore album Colours wasn't even released in his native UK, but got picked up by Sony Music Japan). The 24-year-old singer-songwriter returns for a headlining show at Duo Music Exchange, just in time to mark the release of aptly titled new EP Long Way From London.
