This year's inaugural Tokyo Festival of Intangible Culture seems to have scheduled its most interesting concerts first. Following on from the Carnival Music from Haiti gigs at Sogetsu Hall a week before, the action moves to the Bunkamura for an evening with twentysomething Pakistani singer Sanam Marvi. One of the prime exponents of Sufi songs, Marvi will be accompanied by a group of top-flight classical musicians from Pakistan, led by alghoza (double flute) player Akbal Khamisu Khan.
