Tavito Nanao presents Hyakunin-Kumite

Time Out says

It's been over two years since Tavito Nanao last organised one of his Hyakunin-Kumite gigs, in which the quixotic troubadour faces off against a diverse range of indie bands, jazzers and hip hoppers – no rehearsals, no holds barred. The latest may not necessarily be the best to date, but it's certainly going to be the biggest, thanks to the presence on the bill of Yoshihide Otomo's Fukushima Orchestra, a conducted improv ensemble in which members of the audience can take part. Other collaborators include disco-math-rock weirdos Zazen Boys, jazz veterans Toshinori Kondo and Akira Sakata, underground theatre legend Norimizu Ameya and pop singer Chara.
