Time Out says

Though they emerged from the New York proto-punk scene of the early '70s, Television were far too smart – and too technically proficient – to confine themselves to three-chord anthems for long. As with many groups from that era, the quartet peaked early in their career, splitting up just a year after releasing their masterful 1977 debut, Marquee Moon. Reuniting in 1992, they've been sporadically active ever since, with a new album reportedly on the way (and yes, we've all heard that one before). The band – whose current lineup consists of founder members Tom Verlaine and Billy Cicca, plus longtime bassist Fred Smith and relatively new recruit Jimmy Rip – will be hitting Tokyo for a pair of dates during Golden Week this year.
