Time Out says

After the Sex Pistols fired up the British punk scene and blazed out with a final show in January 1978, guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook formed The Professionals a year later. But three years after that, the new group broke up too. Fast forward to 2015: the group re-forms minus Steve Jones, but with Tom Spencer as the new frontman, playing all the old hits to a sold-out show.

By 2017 the band was officially back in action, spearheaded by Paul Cook, Paul Myers and Tom Spencer, and putting together an album of new stuff for the first time in 35 years. The album ‘What in the World’ featured guest appearances from guitar legends like Duff McKagan from Guns n’ Roses and it won Vive Le Rock Magazine’s album of the year.

Now the group is heading to Japan to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Their first show has them headlining at WOMB in Shibuya on Wednesday, followed by a second show the next day at the hip basement live house Zher the ZOO in Yoyogi. Make sure to buy tickets online in advance.
