Time Out says

Formed in 1977, The Stingrays emerged from the same Bristol music scene that spawned The Pop Group. But while Mark Stewart's pioneering post-punk outfit melded a slew of diverse musical influences with fiercely political lyrics, this trio were a much less intimidating prospect, coming across more like a West Country Ramones. Though the group split up in 1980, guitarist and vocalist Russ Mainwaring – the sole constant amidst a string of lineup changes – would reconvene The Stingrays three decades later, taking them on their first ever Japan tour last year. They return for another bash this month, with support from youthful Tokyo post-punk devotees Lovebuylove, Steiner and more. Note that this show is an all-nighter.
