A new performing arts centre opened just outside Ikebukuro Nishi-guchi Park will host live classical performances on a regular basis. This opening night is an outdoor event featuring the Toshima City Orchestra, Toshima City Wind Orchestra and famed Japanese conductor Kenichiro Kobayashi, who’s also known as the ‘Maestro of Flames’. Local junior high school students will also be joining the line-up; they are scheduled to perform music from the opera ‘Aida’ by Verdi.
