Time Out says

Classical concert series Tokyo Music Evening Yube will be hosting Tomomi Nishimoto and Illuminart Philharmonic Orchestra in November at the Global Ring Theater in Ikebukuro. This will be the group’s second appearance after their first performance in September.

The orchestra gained worldwide attention when it was chosen by the European Foundation for Support of Culture to premiere one of Maltese composer Alexey Shor’s works in Japan in 2019. This time they will be performing a total of six songs including Josef Wagner’s ‘Under the Double Eagle’, Yoshiko Yamaguchi’s ‘Ie Rai Shan’, Mascagni’s ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ and more.

Being one of the first few outdoor concerts of this series during the ongoing pandemic, seats have been arranged to ensure social distancing and guest numbers are strictly limited. To attend, you’ll have to apply for tickets in advance and admission is limited to Tokyo residents.

If the total number of applications exceeds the number of tickets available, tickets will be distributed randomly by lottery. Applications will be open until October 23 at 2pm and winners will be contacted on October 24 at 2pm.

The concert will be available to stream on the Illuminart Philharmonic Orchestra’s official YouTube page the day after the event.

This project is conducted with the help of Tokyo Tourism Foundation’s initiative ‘Nightlife Tourism Promotion Grant’.
