Time Out says

Growing up in rural Germany, Ulrich Schnauss found solace in synthesizers and shoegaze. The producer would dabble in drum'n'bass during the late-'90s before indulging in the music he really wanted to be making: an electronic update of the gauzy sounds peddled by Chapterhouse and My Bloody Valentine, with a nod to ambient experimenters from Tangerine Dream to The Orb. 2003's A Strangely Isolated Place secured Schnauss a much wider audience, while its 2007 follow-up, Goodbye, featured contributions from members of Chapterhouse and fellow shoegaze act Longview. A frequent visitor to Tokyo, Schnauss will be using his current trip to debut tracks from his new album, due for release early next year. He's joined by electronica acts Autora and Agraph, plus a duo collaboration between tabla player U-Zhaan and drummer-cum-beatmaker Mabanua.
