Time Out says

The most prestigious figure on the lineup for the inaugural Jazz Week Tokyo concert series, saxophonist Wayne Shorter was a member of Miles Davis' so-called Second Great Quintet, playing on albums including Nefertiti, In A Silent Way and Bitches Brew before going on to form influential fusion group Weather Report with Joe Zawinul in 1970. He arrives in Tokyo just shy of his 80th birthday, and will be playing two gigs at Theatre Orb in a quartet with bassist John Patitucci, pianist Danilo Perez and drummer Jonathan Pinson.
