Ziggy Marley

While Bob's youngest son, Damian, has earned plaudits for his excursions into dancehall and hip-hop, the oldest son of the Marley clan chose to stick much closer to his father's legacy. Close your eyes, ignore the more contemporary production, and you could almost convince yourself that Ziggy Marley's laidback ditties were being sung by his dad. The singer shares some of the same proclivities, too: latest album Wild and Free featured a song supporting the efforts to legalise marijuana in California – a track which was available free to anyone who purchased a copy of Ziggy's debut comic, Marijuanaman. The most Marley of the Marleys is playing an additional show in Yokohama prior to his appearance at Summer Sonic at the weekend.
