Following the sad news earlier this year that Shibuya Hands would close after 48 years, the iconic shopping destination is holding a thank-you sale through Sunday November 15, its final day of operation.

The massive store was a must-visit for locals and tourists alike, offering everything from knick-knacks and craft supplies to kitchenware, cosmetics and everyday essentials. The site is expected to become a new hotel under the The Gate Hotel brand, slated to open sometime around 2030.

In the meantime, it's worth stopping by to take advantage of the Thank You for 48 Years Sale offering popular products and everyday essentials at special prices, as well as items exclusive to the Shibuya store.

The sale has plenty for makers and curious browsers alike. Pick up cosplay prop materials, colourful tiles and other craft supplies, alongside shoe-care essentials such as wooden shoe trees, polish and brushes at special prices. There are also discounts on selected self-adhesive vinyl sheets, plus single slabs of fine wood suited for DIY projects, tabletops or display.

A series of pop-ups are also taking place, including fossils and minerals – with a Velociraptor skeleton on display – miniature market goods, antique accessories collected in Paris, and colourful decorative parts and keychains for customising your belongings.
