The Tokyo outpost of an operation with roots in Manchester and branches in New York and Ibiza, Sankeys has charmed locals with programming heavily slated towards underground house and techno ever since opening in Daikanyama last spring. Now celebrating its first anniversary, the club is inviting West Coast legend Doc Martin, one of the absolute top names in American house, owner of the Sublevel label and producer for names like A Tribe Called Quest and Moloko, for a six-hour birthday set. Note that Sankeys is also introducing a new pricing system from this night onward: on Saturdays, all non-Japanese clubbers get in for ¥1,500 (excluding a few 'special' events here and there).
