Shimokitazawa probably isn’t the first Tokyo neighbourhood that comes to mind when you think Halloween, but after recent crackdowns on Spooky Season celebrations in Shibuya, there’s naturally a new event in town to celebrate the occasion responsibly. Shimokita’s subterranean Basement Bar & Three on Chazawa-dori is hosting an all-night monster bash Halloween party that’s packed full of live acts and DJs like Superback, Kahori, Quincampoix, LBSTR, Kikiaiai and many more.
Tickets cost ¥3,400, excluding service fees, and include entry to the official pre-party at Retronym Livehouse & Art Studio, kicking off at 7pm. Expect even more performances, plus make-up and tattoo booths to help you get into character. Costumes are encouraged, but note that there are no changing rooms; you’ll have to arrive dressed to impress for a memorable Halloween night.
