Toshiya Kawasaki's house and disco label Mule Musiq is the force behind Contact's regular Cats parties, which remain a source for some of the best house action in Tokyo. This latest edition focuses on Sweden's Studio Barnhus label, with the Stockholm imprint's three main men – Axel Boman, Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist – all on hand to play their idiosyncratic, very groovy take on house and techno. If this one doesn't get you in the mood for the New Year's Eve weekend, nothing will.
