Time Out says

Following the success of its sister shop I’m Donut – known for its wide selection of sweet and savoury doughnuts and legendary long queues – Fukuoka-born Amam Dacotan has finally opened up shop in Omotesando.

The immensely popular bakery first made a name for itself during Japan’s maritozzo boom, which saw the shop turn out beautiful renditions of the Italian pastry filled with fresh cream and a myriad of toppings. The Omotesando location offers more than 140 varieties of freshly baked goods every day, including the popular Dacotan Burger filled with plenty of purple cabbage and homemade sausage. Other signature items include the mentaiko peperoncino baguette, pistachio maritozzo, and honey toast topped with seasonal fruit.

The interior of Amam Dacotan is just as photogenic as its baked goods. The rustic-chic space features cobblestone floors, European antique furniture and dried flowers hanging from the walls and ceiling. While most people opt for takeaway orders, there are about five tables at the outdoor terrace should you want to enjoy your treat on the spot.

Don’t expect a quick grab-and-go, though. The bakery has been trending on social media lately for its super long queues, with netizens claiming that it could be up to an hour or two’s wait before you can get your hands on the bread and pastries – even on weekdays.
