It’s no longer particularly difficult to find great bread in Tokyo. That being said, although French bread is now widely available, bakeries that offer baked goodies from other European countries are still relatively few and far between. Bäckerei Kaffee Linde, located along Kichijoji’s Sunroad arcade, offers a range of different breads, including pretzels, brown bread, rye bread and a whole range of traditional German breads. Generally speaking, this isn't a cheap place – however, the German sandwiches and mouthwatering pastries are actually relatively inexpensive. Customers are welcome to eat within the premises, however with Inokashira Park only a short walk away, another option is to opt for take out and enjoy a bite under the open sky. For those too lazy to venture out to Kichijoji, they also operate an online store.
