Time Out says
After its big success in Hawaii, banana soft serve joint Banán has finally opened its first branch abroad in Yokohama's Sogo shopping mall. The soft serve is exclusively made from organic bananas, and doesn't see any hints of sugar or milk. With its natural, slightly sweet flavour and smooth texture, this soft serve is definitely a healthy treat you won't feel guilty about.
Customise your banana soft serve (¥1,001) with different toppings including strawberries, papaya, granola, quinoa – or give it a Japanese twist by adding matcha powder, red azuki beans, mochi (rice cakes) or yuzu lemon jam. For those who can't get enough of this refreshing Hawaiian treat, go for the 'Papaya Boat' (¥1,620) – half of a papaya garnished with banana soft serve and fruit.
Established by four Hawaiian childhood friends, Banán follows the concept 'farm-to-table and table-to-farm’, which focuses on both the physical product and also takes the environment into consideration. The leftover banana peels are also sent back to banana farms where they are used as compost to support the growth of new bananas.
Hop on the train and head over to Yokohama to get a taste of this Hawaiian, enviroment-friendly banana soft serve, whose concept and ingredients support a healthy future.
