Time Out says

Bistro Roven has three cosy restaurants around Tokyo serving French-style bistro meals. However, its newest location in Shinjuku stands out from the rest.

The interior is themed like a forest, with paintings of trees stretching around the room, chic wooden tables and even branches hanging down from the ceiling. Potted plants at the entrance and outside the restaurant complete the look. In keeping with the whimsical décor, dishes are served in bright green, purple, pink and blue coloured plates.

At lunchtime, you can get a main with a side of soup, salad and your choice of rice or bread for only ¥1,000. Go for the signature oven-baked rolled cabbage or a hamburg steak, both of which are offered with white sauce, fresh tomato sauce,  or demi glace sauce. To make it a boozy meal, just ask the sommelier to help you pick the best wine pairing from the restaurant’s 50-bottle selection. And make lunch even more indulgent with a chocolate terrine or slice of cheesecake (¥350 each).

Come for dinner and you can get a three-course (from ¥880) or five-course (from ¥1,650) set meal, including dishes such as bagna cauda, oyster confit, ratatouille and more. The special rolled cabbage is still available, along with the hamburgs (from ¥1,485 each).
