Oakland's third wave coffee pioneers will not rest until they've opened cafés in every single trendy Tokyo neighbourhood. At least that's what it's starting to look like, with this latest Blue Bottle outpost being the brand's seventh in the capital. In Sangenjaya they've taken over a former clinic built 50 years ago and serve their single-origin brews alongside pastries baked daily right in the store.
