Casual Nakameguro burger shop Blue Star has opened its first concept store in Shibuya, serving its gourmet burgers at fast-food prices. The interior looks just like a classic American diner with tiled floors, booths and counter seats – there’s room for up to 55 people.
The 100-percent beef patties are made to order, meaning your burger is fresh off the grill. The number 113 in the shop’s name refers to the number of grams each patty weighs. Supposedly, it’s the ideal size to satisfy your hamburger cravings. If you need a little more, you can always go for a double or even a triple stack of patties, or splurge on the One Pound Burger, with a tower of four patties inside.
While you can’t go wrong with the standard hamburger and french fry set (¥880), we recommend going for the avocado cheeseburger with a side of chicken nuggets (¥1,160), or the voluminous bacon barbeque tartar sauce burger with nuggets (¥1,100). All set meals come with a side of Blue Star’s lemonade, too.
