Delicious gluten-free pastry is hard to come across, but Choupette has managed to create puffy choux pastry without using flour. Choupette in Hiroo creates its cream puffs using organic Akitakomachi brown rice flour, which is then filled with high quality whipped cream sourced from Hokkaido and sweetened with natural cane sugar. 

The  cream puffs are currently offered in six different flavours including original, coffee vanilla, caramel coconut, strawberry, chocolate pistachio and chocolate raspberry, as well as two seasonal flavours – currently passion fruit mango and hojicha caramel. While the original puffs are topped with a dollop of chantilly and sprinkled with golden flakes, the other flavours come with a round or heart-shaped chocolate on top, too. You can purchase one for ¥495 or half a dozen for ¥3,070.
