French gourmet dealer Fauchon started its annual Éclair Weeks in Paris back in 2007, but nowhere has the concept caught on as well as in Japan. Every year in September, the brand's shops all around Tokyo run out of the creamy pastries long before closing time, with ravenous sweets fiends even resorting to elbow tactics in order to get a taste of rare flavours like olive oil and comté cheese. Head over early for these and a number of more familiar options – how about a mango or popcorn éclair?
