Hailing from New York’s hip SoHo, Cafe Gitane is now adding some Manhattan glamour to the streets of Tokyo with their first Japan branch in Ebisu. What's more, it has both English menus and English-speaking staff. Here are five reasons to head on over for some New York-Tokyo fusion food you won’t find anywhere else.

New York-Tokyo fusion menu at dinnertime
Feast on gourmet dishes: grass-fed beef burgers, 40-day dry-aged rib-eye, kale and fig salad, truffle-oil french fries, and gluten-free options to boot. Always finish with the baked cheese cake or hot fudge dessert.

Cocktails galore
Sip on 12 house specialties, with everything from mimosas to a Yamazaki whisky old fashioned.

Indoor and outdoor terraces
Choose your favourite table: there’s outdoor seating on the café’s quiet street front, as well as an ‘indoor terrace’, where the floor-to-ceiling windows give the space a bright and sunny greenhouse feel.

BYO-music private room
There’s a spacious private room at the back, outfitted with its own audio input so you can plug in your phone and play DJ for the night.

New York brunch meets Japanese lunch set
Enjoy NYC classics like avocado toast – but with the low prices and additional extras of a local lunch set (soup and salad included, all for ¥1,000).
