Operating hundreds of stores in around 20 countries, this famed Taiwanese tea specialist finally found its way to Tokyo in September 2015, opening in Harajuku and promptly attracting snake-like queues of folks eager to sip some milk tea, fruit tea or smoothies. That kind of explosive popularity may now be a thing of the past, but Gong Cha appears to be doing well enough to plot expansion: the chain's second Tokyo location was set up inside Asagaya station mall Dila in late April. Head over for a taste of their renowned Black Milk Tea with Pearls (¥470), or opt for some Taiwanese pineapple cake instead.
