Operating well over a thousand stores in around 20 countries, this famed Taiwanese tea specialist finally found its way to Tokyo in September 2015, opening in Harajuku and promptly attracting snake-like queues of folks eager to sip some milk tea, fruit tea or smoothies. That kind of explosive popularity may now be a thing of the past, but Gong Cha still appears to be doing well enough to plot expansion: the chain's fourth Tokyo location opened on the ground floor of Kichijoji's Atré station mall in April 2017. Head over for a taste of their renowned Black Milk Tea (¥400 for a medium size), or opt for some Taiwanese pineapple cake instead.
