This Shinjuku restaurant is all about robatayaki, or charcoal grilling. The entrance has a ramp and sliding door (not automatic, unfortunately). Inside, you’ll find accessible toilets and a 130cm-wide walkway throughout the restaurant.
In true robatayaki fashion, the menu features plenty of seafood and vegetables. Our picks are the grilled whole prawn and yellowtail collar – the white charcoal gives the fish a deliciously crispy skin. Gyoen Roan is open for lunch and dinner, but check your wallet before going – the restaurant is cash only.
