If you’re looking for authentic French bread, Maison Landemaine has you covered. The bakery chain is stocked with all your favourite carbs including baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolat. This will be the Parisian bakery’s first department store outlet, inside Isetan Shinjuku. Its boutiques in Azabudai and Akasaka may be bigger, but this store will be offering exclusive plant-based vegan melonpan and sandwiches.
The popular Japanese sweet bread melonpan (¥519) comes in three flavours: vanilla, matcha and strawberry. They're made from brioche with a crispy cookie outer layer and are, of course, entirely egg and dairy-free. There will also be a vegan hot dog (¥746) stuffed with soy meat, vegan cheese, dried tomato and parsley.
