Japan's sweets dealers have really perfected the art of the 'hybrid dessert' over the past few years. Perhaps inspired by Dominique Ansel and his Cronut, the folks behind the Kobe-based Miyabi chain tout their eponomyous croissant-bread combo, here served fresh out of the oven six times every day – if you see a queue gathering in front of the shop, you know the time is near. Those not interested in waiting can go for creations like the Miyabi Apple Danish Pastry with Custard (¥200) or the Chocolate Cube (¥250).
