Time Out says

Run by Edo Wonderland theme park in Nikko, Namijiya serves Edo-era (1603-1868) cuisine, with dishes inspired by the 1782 cookbook Tofu Hyakuchin. One of the Japanese restaurant’s signature items is the Namiji-age, a golden block of deep-fried tofu.

While tofu is the speciality here, Namijiya offers a good range of meat dishes. For newcomers, we recommend going straight for the Edo Zanmai Tofu Haykuchin course, where you get to sample 11 different Edo-era dishes.

Lunchtime serves up a variety of set meals as well as donburi such as dotemeshi (beef sinew stewed in miso and mirin on rice), yubameshi (tofu skin on rice) and Ningyocho-tamahide (chicken and egg on rice).
